The aim of the Productivity Improvement Programme is to improve quality of care and technical, allocative and market driven efficiencies across Acute, Community Services and Specialist provision for Mental Health and Learning Disability
The West Midlands Productivity Improvement Programme started in April 2006 and has its roots in Acute Services where an approach was designed with McKinsey’s to assess workforce and non pay costs by Specialty and provide detailed benchmarking data across Specialties and Provider Trusts.
This work continued within Community Services from August 2007 on a larger scale with the 17 Community Providers, Ernst and Young and West Midlands SHA working together to design and implement a programme to improve quality and productivity of community services.
