WMSHA aims high to deliver excellence in all we do and recognise that the effective promotion and implementation of the Single Equality Scheme will play an essential part in helping to modernise our local health economy.
In 2007 NHS West Midlands implemented its first Single Equality Scheme. The first annual review and update of the scheme was seen as an opportunity to ensure the SHA’s equality and diversity work was robust, including having a legally compliant SES.
Since then we have undertaken annual reviews of our Scheme and implemented quarterly monitoring and review of our SES action plan through our Equality and Diversity Programme Board and corporate HR Sub Committee, chaired by our Executive Lead for Equality and two Non Executive Directors.
