As a fully integrated organisation we offer advice across the whole of the medical and non medical workforce and have forged excellent working relationships with all health economies through the establishment of 5 Workforce Locality Boards.

The Workforce Locality Boards are sub regional hubs, led by service CEOs which enable a focus on workforce planning that  is reflective of the local health economy and encourages workforce innovation at a locality level.
 

The 5 Locality Boards are:

  • Birmingham and Sandwell
  • Black Country
  • Coventry and Warwickshire
  • Hereford and Worcester
  • Shropshire, Staffordshire and Stoke

The objectives of the Locality Boards are to:

  • Support more integraetd systems of workforce planning
  • Understand and influence workforce plans
  • Build on close working relationships with Social Care Services and encourage compatible workforce plans
  • Contribute to the SHA commissioning plans
  • Commission education programmes for local needs
  • Provide a voice on the fitness for purpose of University delivered programmes
  • Provide a patient and public voice and a means of communicating its influence on workforce development
  • Produce an annual investment plan for local workforce priorities from its allocated locality budget
  • Encourage workforce innovation at a locality level
