As a fully integrated organisation we offer advice across the whole of the medical and non medical workforce and have forged excellent working relationships with all health economies through the establishment of 5 Workforce Locality Boards.
The Workforce Locality Boards are sub regional hubs, led by service CEOs which enable a focus on workforce planning that is reflective of the local health economy and encourages workforce innovation at a locality level.
The 5 Locality Boards are:
- Birmingham and Sandwell
- Black Country
- Coventry and Warwickshire
- Hereford and Worcester
- Shropshire, Staffordshire and Stoke
The objectives of the Locality Boards are to:
- Support more integraetd systems of workforce planning
- Understand and influence workforce plans
- Build on close working relationships with Social Care Services and encourage compatible workforce plans
- Contribute to the SHA commissioning plans
- Commission education programmes for local needs
- Provide a voice on the fitness for purpose of University delivered programmes
- Provide a patient and public voice and a means of communicating its influence on workforce development
- Produce an annual investment plan for local workforce priorities from its allocated locality budget
- Encourage workforce innovation at a locality level
