MSC places great emphasis on the acquisition and development of leadership skills at all stages of the career framework. 

It is important that future clinical leaders are supported through their transition into senior leadership roles across services and organisations. The Medical Education England Healthcare Science programme board has a designated workstream looking at Leadership.

Each SHA will have a senior scientist lead who will work in collaboration with NHS Employers, the Association of UK University Hospitals group and through local leadership programmes to support the development of a coherent leadership strategy.  For more specific information, please see the information on the lead scientist page.
