The total cost of administration is £101,259 - equivalent to 0.5% of the fund and within guidelines.

Audit arrangements are currently being put in place with the post of Clinical Audit Manager out for recruitment. Any information held is compliant with Information Governance requirements and legislation.

The turnaround time is 48 hours from receipt of request, to approval, and response which is emailed to the clinician. The majority are completed within 24 hours.
We do not hold information on when treatment commences.
6. Please confirm or deny whether your SHA is projecting an under spend on its Cancer Drugs Fund for the financial year 2011/12.

£14.836m was the allocated expenditure for the financial year 2011/12. £14.305m has been spent giving a £531,000 underspend. Please note however that invoices for February/March 2012 are based on estimated data and may be subject to change.
8. Please disclose the number of applications your SHA has received to the Cancer Drugs Fund, and which of these were approved, rejected or are pending, during the period April 2011 to March 2012, broken down by cancer type and by month.
We are unable to provide information on the numbers of applications by cancer type by month. Because of the small numbers of patients involved, we believe that there is a danger of patient confidentiality being compromised. We continue to regularly publish information on the total numbers of applications to the Cancer Drugs Fund, both approved and rejected, on our website.
9. Please list the indications for which your SHA has approved funding from the Cancer Drugs Fund, and please disclose the number of cycles of treatment funded, during the period April 2011 to March 2012 inclusive, broken down by month.
